Sell Ebooks Online: PDF, EPUB and Automatic Delivery
Sell an ebook online by packaging the finished files, stating the reading formats and license, setting a price, and sharing a checkout page that releases the download after payment. PayRequest helps you sell directly to your audience; it is not a book-discovery marketplace.
What exactly will your reader receive?
Example product: a €12 independent travel guide, supplied as PDF and EPUB with a sample chapter. Use your own original or licensed content. Clearly list the language, edition date, approximate length, supported readers and any bonus files. Do not promise a format or device compatibility you have not checked.
| File | Purpose | Check before publishing |
|---|---|---|
| guide-v1.pdf | Fixed-layout reading | Working links, selectable text and a readable mobile sample |
| guide-v1.epub | Reflowable e-reader edition | Open it in the reading apps you claim to support |
| readme.txt | Reading and support instructions | Version, file list and support contact |
| license.txt | Buyer usage terms | State permitted use and redistribution restrictions |
From ebook page to reader download
- Step 1
Create a digital-download product and upload the promised files or a clearly described ZIP bundle.
- Step 2
Set the price and currency, cover, sample and delivery description. Explain your license and applicable terms.
- Step 3
Connect a supported receiving account. Review the available checkout methods, tax setup and payment confirmation.
- Step 4
Inspect the full product page on mobile; verify the sample, exact file list and contact details.
- Step 5
Test that confirmed payment releases the correct files. Keep a copy of the delivered version so support can identify what the reader bought.
Illustrative economics for a €12 ebook
On PayRequest Free, the standard platform fee for one successful €12 payment is €0.24. That leaves €11.76 before provider fees, taxes and any other applicable costs. Do not describe that figure as profit. Active paid plans have 0% standard platform fees, with their monthly charge paid separately.
Direct sales or a marketplace?
A direct link suits an audience you already reach through a newsletter, website or social profile. A marketplace may add discovery, reading infrastructure or other services. Review any exclusivity agreement before offering the same ebook through a second channel.
Plans and fees
Free is €0/month with a 2% standard platform fee per successful payment, capped at €25 per transaction. Premium is €5/month and Business €20/month, with 0% standard platform fees while active. Payment-provider fees, taxes and commission-payment exceptions are separate. Selecting a paid plan does not activate it; complete setup and checkout.
Receiving payments requires a supported, approved payment-provider account. Available methods depend on your country, provider and product.
Questions before you start
Can I sell PDF and EPUB together?
Yes. Describe both formats and supply the files through your supported digital-download setup. Test the files before publishing.
Do I need a separate ebook page for each format?
Usually one product page can describe the included formats. Separate offers are useful only when the actual product, price or license differs.
Does PayRequest bring readers to my book?
You bring your audience. Use the product link in your own channels and measure visits, paid orders and successful downloads.
