To sell PowerPoint templates with PayPal, deliver a tested template package rather than a folder of attractive slides. The buyer needs the right editable format, font and media disclosures, a clear license, and access only after PayPal confirms payment.

Choose the File That Matches the Promise
Microsoft distinguishes a normal PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) from a PowerPoint Design Template (.potx) in its supported file-format guidance. Use the format the buyer expects:

Test the Buyer Copy, Not the Design File
Export the retail ZIP, move it to a clean account or device and follow your own installation instructions. Create a new deck from the .potx, replace sample text, swap an image, change theme colours, duplicate layouts, export PDF and present in slideshow mode.
Microsoft notes that some desktop features behave differently in PowerPoint for the web. Publish only the compatibility you verified.
Price and License the Useful System
Buyers are paying for a repeatable presentation system: usable masters, consistent spacing, charts they can update, and documentation that prevents broken decks. Define whether the license covers one user, a team, client deliverables or repeated commercial use. Prohibit redistribution of the editable template itself unless you intentionally sell resale rights.
If a preview uses stock photos, brand logos or premium fonts, say whether those assets are included. A screenshot is not proof that the underlying asset can be redistributed.

- Create one product for each genuinely different license or edition.

- Show real slide previews and a list of editable components.
