From your server to a paid product
Create a dedicated role
Set up a paid-access role in Discord and check the private channels it unlocks. Keep moderation and staff permissions separate.
Install the PayRequest bot
Use Services & integrations → Discord Memberships. Give the shared bot Manage Roles and move its role above your access roles. No token or client secret needed.
Save your server and invitation
Connect your Discord account, select a server you own and use Save server. Add an invitation for new members. Installing the bot alone does not save the connection.
Create and connect your product
Open Products → New product → Discord Membership. Choose a pass or subscription, save, and select its role and duration. Confirm the private channel permissions.
One PayRequest business connects one Discord server. That server cannot also connect to another PayRequest business. The setup checklist refreshes about every 15 seconds while visible.

Payment Page to Discord, without a shop
Your Discord access tab uses your existing Payment Page banner, logo and theme. The access screen, email login and status checks stay on payrequest.me, even for purchases on a custom domain.

Customers must join themselves. PayRequest grants the role; Discord channel permissions determine what becomes visible. Open email login and Discord sign-in in the same browser.

Pay for the connected product
The confirmation shows Continue to Discord. Completion emails include the role, access duration and a return link.

Sign in and connect Discord
The buyer uses their purchase email, connects their own Discord account, joins through your invitation and accepts the server rules.

Check access and open the server
Checks start automatically and watch for changes for about 30 seconds. Check Discord access remains available to retry; Open Discord server returns members to Discord.
Access follows the paid period
Renewals, expiry and exceptions made clear
Paid renewals extend access
Each eligible paid purchase is recorded once. Repeated notifications do not extend it again; unpaid renewals do not extend access.
Cancellation respects the end date
A scheduled future cancellation does not remove access early. Expiry or effective cancellation ends access; paused or suspended subscriptions do not grant current access.
Refunds and disputes affect access
Refunds, credit notes, chargebacks and unresolved payment disputes stop the affected purchase from granting managed access. Partial refunds require seller review.
Your existing roles stay yours
PayRequest removes only roles it took responsibility for granting. A pre-existing role is retained. Another qualifying purchase can keep the same role active.
Checks follow relevant payment and subscription changes, with a five-minute recovery schedule. Queues and Discord rate limits can delay changes; always-instant delivery is not promised.
Know what you are connecting
- Use a positive-price service or native subscription product with one unit. Recurring interval count must be one.
- Free trials, provider-managed subscriptions, products with another automatic delivery integration and existing purchases are not supported in this version. A standalone amount link does not grant a role.
- Only purchases created after connection qualify. Once checkout or billing has started, saved terms stay fixed; role changes and other changes require a new product.
- Disabling delivery removes managed access at the next successful check. It does not stop billing. The integration does not issue refunds, kick or ban members, or change channel permissions.
Discord Memberships, answered
Do I need to create a Discord bot?
No. PayRequest provides the shared Discord app. Install it in a server you own and grant Manage Roles. You do not enter a bot token or client secret.
Do customers need a shop account?
No. Payment Page customers use payrequest.me/{page-handle}/discord/access with their purchase email and own Discord account. A shop is not required.
Can I connect several products and roles?
Yes. Eligible products can map to different dedicated roles in the same connected server, for example Community and Workshop. One business connects one server.
Can I import existing paid customers automatically?
No. Only purchases created after the product is connected are considered. Existing purchases are not imported automatically.
What if someone connects the wrong Discord account?
A linked account cannot be switched automatically. Contact support. Delegated contacts and merchant impersonation sessions cannot claim access.
Is this the same as a PayRequest Page membership?
No. Discord Memberships grants roles in your Discord server. A PayRequest Page membership grants access to protected Page posts; choose the destination your members need.
