What is a donation payment page?

A donation payment page is a hosted webpage where supporters chip in toward a public fundraising goal — with a live progress bar, a donor feed, and preset amount buttons.

With PayRequest, your donation payment page lives at yourname.payrequest.me. Set a goal (e.g. €100 monthly for server costs), pick preset amounts (€1, €5, €25), and share the URL in a Discord server, podcast description, newsletter or bio. Donors give any amount and see their name appear in the public feed instantly.

Unlike Buy Me a Coffee or Patreon, there's no platform fee, no monthly subscription, no follower model. You keep your audience on your own URL, set your own goal, and the counter auto-resets every month so momentum builds with each cycle.

What's included

Everything a fundraising page actually needs.

Live progress bar

Shows total raised vs. your goal in real time, with a percentage and remaining-to-go amount. Updates the second a donation clears.

Monthly auto-reset

Pick a monthly goal — the counter resets on the 1st of each month. No cron jobs, no manual reset, no broken automation.

Public donor feed

Recent donations appear under the bar with name (or 'Anonymous'), amount and relative time. Builds social proof and momentum.

Pay-any-amount

Donors give whatever they want. Add 3–6 preset amount buttons (€1, €5, €25) for one-click giving plus an open custom field.

Goal-reached state

When the total hits 100%, the bar turns green and a 'Goal reached!' badge appears. Donations keep flowing in for overshoot.

Free, no monthly fee

PayRequest is free to start with no monthly subscription. Pay 2% per successful donation (capped at €25), on top of your provider's rate.

Reset periods

Recurring monthly goals, or one-time campaigns.

Pick what fits your fundraising. Switch any time without changing the URL.

Recurring

Monthly goal

Counter resets on the 1st of each month. Ideal for recurring costs — server hosting, community subscriptions, podcast production, content creation.

  • Auto-reset on day 1, every month
  • "Days left" counter creates urgency
  • History stays in your transactions
Campaign

One-time goal

Never resets. Counts upward until you change the settings or hit your goal. Ideal for fundraising campaigns, equipment funds, charity drives.

  • Goal stays open until you switch it off
  • "Goal reached" badge when 100% funded
  • Overshoot allowed — donations keep coming

FAQ

Donation payment page questions

What is a donation payment page?

+

A donation payment page is a hosted webpage where supporters can chip in toward a public fundraising goal. With PayRequest, your donation page shows a live progress bar, a recent-donor feed and preset amount buttons — all on a branded URL at yourname.payrequest.me, powered by Stripe, Mollie or PayPal.

Does the goal reset automatically every month?

+

Yes, if you pick the Monthly reset period. On the 1st of each month the counter starts at €0 again — no action needed. One-time goals never reset; they keep counting until you change settings or switch modes.

Can donors stay anonymous?

+

Yes. If a donor leaves the name field blank, they show as 'Anonymous' in the public feed. You can also turn off the donor feed entirely if your audience prefers privacy — the full ledger with emails and timestamps stays in your transactions page either way.

What payment methods can donors use?

+

Whatever you've connected. With Stripe or Mollie, donors can pay via iDEAL, SEPA Direct Debit, cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Bancontact and 15+ other methods. Add PayPal for the PayPal button alongside. The checkout auto-shows the right methods based on the donor's country.

How much does it cost to run a donation payment page?

+

PayRequest is free to start with no monthly fee. You pay 2% per successful donation, capped at €25 per transaction, on top of your provider's rate (Stripe/Mollie/PayPal). There's no platform cut beyond that — far cheaper than Buy Me a Coffee (5%) or Patreon (8–12%).

Do refunds affect the progress total?

+

Yes. The total is computed live from invoices marked Paid. If you refund a donation, it drops out of the goal total automatically and disappears from the donor feed — no manual reconciliation needed.

Can I use my own domain for the donation page?

+

Yes. Add a custom domain like donate.yourbrand.com or pay.yourbrand.com and your donation payment page lives there instead of payrequest.me. Same goal, same donor feed, same live progress — on your domain.

What happens when I reach my goal?

+

The progress bar fills to 100% and turns green, a 'Goal reached!' badge appears, and the status line changes to 'Thank you! Extra donations are still welcome.' Donations keep flowing — supporters can overshoot the goal if they want. For monthly goals, the counter resets to €0 on the 1st as usual.

Is it good for Discord / gaming community fundraising?

+

Yes — it's one of the most common use cases. Set a €15/month goal for VPS hosting or community bills, drop the link in your Discord, and members can chip in any amount. The live progress bar and donor feed are exactly the kind of social-proof loop gaming communities respond to.

Can I switch back to a regular payment page or products mode?

+

Yes, freely. Donation Mode is one of three payment-page modes alongside 'Products & services' and 'Amount buttons'. Switch any time — your goal settings stay saved so you can flip back to Donation Mode later and pick up where you left off.
