Sell music & sound with licensing built in

Sell finished tracks, sample packs, sound effect libraries, and stems directly to producers and content creators — with clear license terms attached to every sale, so nobody has to guess if it's cleared for their monetized video.

Licensing scope: personal, monetized, or commercial

"Am I actually allowed to use this?" is the single biggest support question in royalty-free music. Attach the scope to the price so buyers know exactly what they're covered for before they download — not after they upload.

Everything you need to sell licensed audio

License clarity, flexible file formats, and no subscription dependency — built for how creators actually buy music.

License Attached to Every File

Every download includes a plain-language license — personal, monetized, or commercial — so buyers never have to guess if they're covered.

Non-Exclusive by Default, Exclusive on Request

Sell the same track to unlimited creators at a lower price, or offer a one-time exclusive buyout that pulls it from sale to everyone else.

WAV, MP3, and Stems in One Listing

Attach multiple file formats to a single product so a YouTuber gets the MP3 and a video editor gets the WAV and stems, from the same purchase.

No Subscription Lock-In

Buyers own the file and the license outright — unlike subscription libraries, nothing gets pulled or flagged in their old videos if they ever stop paying you.

Perfect for composers and sound creators

Whether you score for content creators, produce sample packs, or design sound effects — selling directly means you set the license and keep the revenue.

Composers selling stock and background music to YouTubers

Music producers selling sample packs and drum kits
Artists selling exclusive-rights releases
Jingle writers selling short branded audio to small brands
Session musicians selling stems for remix and sync use

"A client's video got a copyright claim because the background music came from a subscription library and they'd cancelled the month before uploading. Now every track I sell through PayRequest comes with an outright license attached to the file — buyers own their usage rights forever, with no subscription to keep paying just to stay covered."

Frequently asked questions

What license should I include with a royalty-free track?+
At minimum, offer a personal-use tier and a monetized-content tier that explicitly covers ad-supported YouTube, Twitch, and podcasts — that's the split buyers search for most. Add a commercial or broadcast tier only if you're comfortable licensing for paid ads and corporate use.
What's the difference between exclusive and non-exclusive rights?+
Non-exclusive means you can sell the same track to unlimited buyers, so it's priced lower per sale. Exclusive means you pull it from sale entirely after one purchase — only that buyer can ever use it, which is why exclusive buyouts cost several times more than a standard license.
Should I sell WAV, MP3, or both?+
Sell both when you can. Content creators editing in a video tool often want the WAV for quality and the stems for custom mixing, while someone dropping a track straight into an upload just needs the MP3 — bundling both in one listing avoids a second purchase.
Do I need a PRO or publishing registration to sell my own music?+
No — you don't need a performance rights organization (like BMI, ASCAP, or BUMA) affiliation to sell direct-purchase licenses for your own original, unpublished tracks. A PRO only pays out performance royalties for registered works played on covered platforms like radio, TV, or some streaming — it doesn't affect your right to sell direct-license downloads.
What happens if a buyer's video goes viral and gets far more views than expected?+
With a standard non-exclusive monetized license, view count typically doesn't matter — the license covers ad-supported use on that platform regardless of scale. If you want to cap it, state a view or budget ceiling in your commercial tier and require a separate broadcast license above that threshold.
