If a FiveM payment relates to server access, packages, priority, vehicles, cosmetics, membership or another server benefit, use the commerce system authorized by Cfx.re—currently Tebex—and follow the current Creator Platform terms. Do not route a FiveM perk sale through a generic “donation” button to avoid those rules.
This page is a decision guide, not a workaround and not legal advice.
Why the Payment Label Does Not Decide the Rule
A payment with a defined benefit is commerce even when a server calls it a donation. The published Cfx.re Platform Service Agreement identifies Tebex as the exclusive provider of built-in FiveM commerce functionality. Operators should also review the newest agreement shown in the Cfx.re account and documentation because platform terms change.
Use this decision table before creating any checkout:
| Money is connected to… | Treat it as | Appropriate route |
|---|---|---|
| Server access, queue priority or membership | FiveM server commerce | Current Cfx.re-authorized commerce provider |
| Vehicle, cosmetic, package or other entitlement | FiveM server commerce | Current Cfx.re-authorized commerce provider |
| In-game currency or random/chance reward | High-risk or prohibited category | Stop and verify current Cfx.re and Tebex rules |
| Unrelated real-world community activity | Separate activity | Get platform and legal clarity before using another checkout |
| Pure gift with no server relationship or benefit | Fact-specific | Confirm it is genuinely outside FiveM commerce before collecting |
When in doubt, use the stricter route. Losing server access is more expensive than choosing the correct payment provider at launch.
Do Not Sell These Through PayRequest
Do not use PayRequest to sell FiveM queue priority, allowlists, vehicles, cosmetics, packages, in-game services, currency or server memberships. PayRequest does not perform Tebex fulfillment and is not a replacement for FiveM's authorized commerce flow.
This is deliberately different from the general gaming server fundraising guide, which covers genuine voluntary community-cost contributions across platforms whose rules permit that setup.
Build a Compliance Record Before Launch
Record:
- The exact product or contribution description.
- What the payer receives, including indirect recognition or priority.
- Which official rule permits it.
- Which payment and fulfillment provider is required.
- Who handles refunds, disputes and player support.
- When the policy was last checked.
Take a dated internal screenshot or PDF of the applicable terms, but link customers to the current live policy. Old Discord advice is not a compliance source.
Budget the Server Without Creating an Unauthorized Checkout
You can still use the game server cost split calculator internally to understand hosting, protection, database, assets, development and community-tool costs. The calculator does not collect money and does not decide which commerce route is permitted.
Once the budget is known, map every revenue idea to the current Cfx.re rules. If it is FiveM server commerce, implement it through the authorized provider. If you believe a payment is wholly separate, obtain clarification before publishing the checkout.
The Safe FiveM Launch Checklist
- Read the latest Creator Platform and Tebex policies from their official locations.
- Describe every package as a purchase, not a donation, when it has a benefit.
- Use the authorized commerce and fulfillment route.
- Avoid real-money gambling, chance-based rewards and prohibited currency mechanics.
- Confirm you own or license every asset being sold.
- Publish refund and support information.
- Recheck the policy after platform updates.
The correct outcome of this guide may be “use Tebex,” not “create a PayRequest page.” That boundary protects the server operator and keeps the broader PayRequest gaming cluster trustworthy.
