The best platform for selling Discord memberships depends on your billing model, payment setup and access rules. Shortlist PayRequest for product-linked passes and native recurring access, Flatpass for a member-based monthly bill, PayBot for a percentage model without a monthly subscription, and LaunchPass when its broader community workflow fits. Subscord, SellApp and Discord's own Server Subscriptions serve different needs too.

This comparison is for a server owner choosing a paid-community system, not someone selling a Discord server or looking for a general-purpose moderation bot. It compares published product behavior and adds an editable buyer scorecard. PayRequest publishes this article and is one of the options. We did not run paid checkout tests on every platform or award artificial performance ratings. Sources and prices were checked on 1 November 2026.

Seven Discord membership platforms at a glance

Platform charges below are not total payment-processing costs. Keep the seller's country, currency, payment method, tax treatment and account eligibility in the comparison.

A “free” tier may limit paid members or exclude the billing feature you need. A “0%” platform fee can still leave processing, crypto-service, tax, foreign-exchange or payout charges. Compare the complete route your members will use.

1. PayRequest: connect community access to a purchased product

Discord Memberships maps an eligible product to a dedicated role in a server you own. A service product can grant 1–3,650 days or unlimited access without automatic expiry. A native subscription can use daily, weekly, monthly or yearly paid periods with interval count one.

Buyers use the Discord access tab on your Payment Page; a shop is not required. The shared PayRequest app handles Discord connection, so sellers do not supply a bot token or client secret. Purchases must have a positive price and one unit. Free trials, provider-managed subscriptions, another automatic delivery integration and pre-connection purchases are unsupported in this version.

The key tradeoff is explicit: PayRequest provides product and paid-period access checks, not an automatic import of your old membership system. It grants roles; it does not kick members, change channel permissions or cancel billing through this integration. See the current product documentation and plan comparison before selecting your offer.

2. Flatpass: model the bill by paid-member count

Flatpass's pricing is worth considering when you want a fixed monthly tier rather than a percentage of sales. The bill changes with active paid members. Test the next tier against your realistic growth, not total server size; Stripe processing remains separate.

3. PayBot: start with a percentage of sales

PayBot combines membership links and Discord account connection with role delivery. It is a sensible shortlist when you prefer paying a share of sales instead of a recurring platform bill. Use its own pricing page, not an older competitor comparison, when checking the current rate.

4. LaunchPass: consider the wider community workflow

LaunchPass is relevant if you need the same paid-community operation across Discord, Telegram or Slack, plus options such as trials and an embedded signup widget. Those requirements can justify a different bill from a Discord-only product. If cost is the main concern, use our LaunchPass alternatives and switching checklist.

5. Subscord: evaluate the payment route as well as the plan

Subscord advertises Stripe and crypto payments with automatic Discord role access. Its free tier and paid member-count plans need to be evaluated alongside the separate processing or crypto-service charges. Check whether a renewal is automatic or requires the buyer to pay again on your chosen route.

6. SellApp: put a storefront around the community

SellApp's Discord documentation describes official or custom bot setup and product-linked roles. It is worth evaluating when the store and other products matter alongside access. Check its expiry actions: an optional kick is a different outcome from removing a paid role.

7. Discord Server Subscriptions: check native eligibility first

Discord describes native Server Subscriptions as monthly tiered memberships. Its creator FAQ includes US banking and identification requirements among the eligibility checks. Start there if in-app buying is essential, and inspect the complete fee conditions rather than comparing a revenue split with another vendor's platform fee.

Compare costs with the same assumptions

Imagine 40 members each paying $50 in a month: $2,000 of successful payments. This is a hypothetical platform-charge exercise, before processing, taxes, refunds, optional features and any individually agreed rates.

Published modelCalculation for the examplePlatform charge
Flatpass, up to 80 paid membersStarter monthly tier$29
PayBot$2,000 × 3%$60
LaunchPass$29 + ($2,000 × 3.5%)$99

These calculations use the linked vendor prices above. They do not establish the cheapest complete checkout or predict revenue. A fee saving is irrelevant if the platform cannot support the offer.

Keep a EUR scenario separate: at €2,000 in eligible standard payments, an active PayRequest Business plan has €20 monthly plan cost and €0 standard platform payment fees, before provider charges and applicable taxes. Business includes recurring billing; confirm plan availability and provider setup. Do not subtract this EUR amount from a USD bill without a stated exchange rate. Commission payments have separate fees.

Download a scorecard instead of choosing by logo

Download the editable Discord membership platform scorecard. Set your requirements first, then score each shortlisted platform from 0 to 5 using evidence from its current documentation or your trial.

Weighted score = sum of (rating ÷ 5 × weight). A failed must-have requirement overrides the score. The weights are an original purchasing framework, not measured platform ratings.

Before launch, rehearse one paid member, one canceled membership through its paid end date, a buyer who has not joined, and an expired invitation. Ask who owns billing and who removes which role. In PayRequest, a role already assigned before the integration claimed it is retained; queues and Discord rate limits can delay checks.

If the product-linked model fits, explore PayRequest Discord Memberships. Then use the membership payment-link guide to bring visitors from your audience to the right purchase and access flow.
