The most useful LaunchPass alternative depends on what you want to change. Shortlist PayRequest for product-linked Discord passes and native subscription access, Flatpass for member-based flat pricing, PayBot for a percentage without a monthly platform subscription, Subscord for its Stripe/crypto approach, or SellApp when a storefront is central to the offer.
Changing a payment page does not transfer active subscriptions, billing authorization or responsibility for Discord roles. This guide is for an existing Discord community assessing a switch. It includes a cost-model exercise and a cutover worksheet, rather than assuming your members can be moved automatically. PayRequest publishes this comparison and is one of the alternatives. Official sources were reviewed on 1 November 2026; no paid migration between these services was performed.
First decide what LaunchPass is failing to solve
Write down the actual reason: the combined monthly/percentage bill, the way you sell one-time passes, checkout ownership, another product catalog, or a support requirement. Set a measurable acceptance condition before evaluating a replacement.
If you need Slack or Telegram alongside Discord, free trials, an embedded signup widget or the existing member-management workflow, LaunchPass's published features may already fit. Do not move solely because a comparison headline says another service is “best.”
Five alternatives by switching reason
| Alternative | Consider it when | Confirm before moving |
|---|---|---|
| PayRequest Discord Memberships | You want product-linked timed, unlimited or native recurring access on a Payment Page | New eligible purchases only; no automatic historical import |
| Flatpass | You prefer a bill tied to active paid-member tiers | The next tier and your Stripe setup |
| PayBot | You prefer percentage pricing without a monthly platform subscription | Current rate, Stripe charges and required member actions |
| Subscord | You need its Stripe/crypto selling model | Your tier, payment-service charges and renewal process |
| SellApp | You need a storefront and Discord-linked products | Bot mode, expiry actions and payment configuration |
This is a shortlist by requirement, not a claim that every tool supports the same countries, payment routes or migration process. Ask the chosen provider which records and billing objects it can actually take over.
Separate the platform bill from processing
LaunchPass's own fee guide publishes $29/month plus 3.5% per transaction, with Stripe charges separate. Model the charge on successful payments, then add the processing fees for your actual seller country and method.
For a fictional community receiving $3,000 from 60 paid members in one month:
- LaunchPass platform charges: $29 + $3,000 × 3.5% = $134.
- Flatpass's published up-to-80 member tier: $29.
- PayBot's published 3% model: $3,000 × 3% = $90.
Those are platform-charge calculations only, using the linked published plans. They exclude processing, tax, optional services, refunds, FX and negotiated rates. They do not prove a complete-cost saving or quantify the effort of switching. If you outgrow a member tier, recalculate before deciding.
For PayRequest, use a separate EUR scenario: €3,000 of eligible standard payments on active Business = €20 monthly plan cost + €0 standard PayRequest payment fees, before processing and tax. Current pricing places subscriptions and recurring billing in Business. Commission payments have separate fees, and an inactive plan does not retain the paid-plan fee treatment. Check feature/provider eligibility and current activation details. No USD/EUR conversion is assumed here.
Identify what can move and what cannot
A member list is not a payment mandate. An email address is not a linked Discord identity. A subscription visible in a Stripe account does not automatically become a native subscription in a different platform.
For PayRequest's current Discord integration, only purchases created after an eligible product is connected qualify. Existing purchases are not automatically imported, and provider-managed subscriptions are unsupported in this version. Do not promise to “connect old LaunchPass billing” and have it start granting roles.
Record these separately for every cohort you plan to move:
| Record | Why it matters | Verify with the responsible system |
|---|---|---|
| Existing billing owner | Prevent two systems charging for the same period | Current subscription and cancellation date |
| Paid-through entitlement | Preserve the service the member already bought | Original paid period and promised benefits |
| Discord identity and current role | Avoid taking away unrelated or manual access | Member account and role ownership |
| Replacement offer | Establish the actual new terms | Product, currency, role and effective date |
| New purchase and access claim | Prove the new route works | Payment, buyer connection, server join and role |
Download the Discord membership cutover worksheet. It is an operational checklist, not an importer. Do not upload private member records to a public document.
Start with a separate new-member offer
A staged introduction can let you assess the replacement before asking existing members to change anything. It still needs clear responsibility for each billing and access cohort.
- Preserve the existing subscription records, paid periods and access decisions. Do not cancel them merely to test another product.
- Create a dedicated replacement role and review the private channels it unlocks. Avoid giving two bots authority to remove the same paid role during the transition.
- In PayRequest, connect a server you own, install the shared app, save the server and invitation, then connect the new eligible product. The setup guide covers those steps.
- Rehearse a new buyer's payment, email login, Discord connection, join and access check. This guide proposes that rehearsal; it does not claim we ran it with your community.
- For existing members, agree the replacement start and old billing end. Confirm that access continuity and charging periods are intentional. If you cannot preserve the original entitlement, pause the cutover and resolve it first.
PayRequest keeps roles present before it took responsibility for granting them. A new purchase does not guarantee the integration will later remove an old manually assigned role. Disabling Discord delivery removes managed access at the next successful check but does not cancel subscription billing. Billing cancellation and access changes need separate review.
Give members a precise notice
Use this original notice template only after confirming the actual dates and terms:
“We are introducing [new purchase link] for [offer] from [date]. Your current [provider] subscription remains responsible for [paid-through period]. [Explain the confirmed old billing end and new billing start]. Please do not buy a second subscription unless we have told you when the new one begins. To claim new Discord access, use your purchase email, connect your own Discord account and follow the server invitation/rules. Contact [support] if your access or billing differs from this notice.”
Replace the placeholders and explain whether you are inviting only new members or changing existing subscriptions. A request to purchase is not proof that old billing has stopped. Do not promise an automatic transfer that your chosen provider has not confirmed.
When keeping LaunchPass is the better decision
Stay with the current system if the alternative fails a must-have, if you cannot preserve paid-through access, or if migration work outweighs the demonstrated benefit. A lower platform line item alone does not justify double billing, confused members or a broken access workflow.
If PayRequest fits your new offer, explore Discord Memberships and the membership payment-link workflow. For the broader seven-option shortlist, see platforms for selling Discord memberships.
