You can sell images you created with Midjourney when your use meets its current terms and you have cleared every input, reference and element included in the final product. Buyers are more likely to pay for a coherent, production-ready art pack with known dimensions and license terms than for an uncurated folder of generations.

This guide is for creators selling finished Midjourney image downloads—wallpaper packs, backgrounds, printable art or themed visual bundles. It is intentionally separate from selling Midjourney prompts.

Confirm Commercial Use Before You Package the Art

Midjourney's current commercial-use guidance says you own images and videos you create, subject to exceptions. It specifically says an upscale of another user's image belongs to that creator, and a business grossing more than US$1 million a year needs a Pro or Mega plan for company commercial use.

That contractual permission does not clear a copied logo, copyrighted character, recognizable person, unlicensed input image or another user's creation. It also does not guarantee that a fully AI-generated image receives copyright protection in every country. Review current terms at release time and obtain qualified advice for high-risk or exclusive licensing.

Use a Four-Part Art Release Record

Input clearanceYour source images and permission notesAn unlicensed reference enters the pack
Export manifestFilename, dimensions, color profile and checksumPreview and download do not match
License promisePermitted use, seats, projects and restrictions“Commercial use” means different things to each party

Avoid naming a living artist in the listing or claiming that a pack reproduces that person's style. Do not include brand marks, celebrity likenesses or familiar characters just because the model produced them.

Turn Generations Into a Product

A buyer needs a usable set, not evidence that you generated many images. Choose one job: phone wallpapers, stream backgrounds, printable abstract art, book-cover concepts or social-content backgrounds. Curate a consistent set and remove near-duplicates, obvious artifacts and files that only look good as thumbnails.

Export the exact formats you advertise. For a screen-background pack, state pixel dimensions and aspect ratios. For print files, state the pixel dimensions, intended print sizes and color-profile limitations; do not promise “print ready at any size.” For editable assets, include only fonts, vectors and source elements you may redistribute.

Package a contact sheet, numbered final files, a license, a readme and a version history in one ZIP. Open every file, inspect it at 100%, test the ZIP on a second device and compare each product-page preview with the delivered file.

Define Personal and Commercial Tiers Precisely

A useful personal license can cover the buyer's own devices or private prints. A commercial license might cover one business, a defined number of finished end products or one client project. State whether modification is allowed and prohibit resale of the raw image pack unless you intentionally sell redistribution rights.

Do not describe the commercial tier as “exclusive” when you will sell the same pack again. If a buyer needs exclusivity, treat it as a custom commission with a separately negotiated scope, provenance review and price.

Create the Direct Product Page

Use PayRequest's graphics and design product page to show representative previews, included formats and the real license boundary. Upload the tested ZIP and use automatic digital delivery so the full-resolution files are released only after successful payment.

Before launch, make a buyer-view order for each materially different license. Check that the chosen tier appears consistently on the page, receipt and delivered license. Share the link from the portfolio post or social image that demonstrates the exact pack; that traffic is far more qualified than a generic audience searching for AI-art news.

PayRequest's Free plan includes the standard selling features without a monthly feature fee. The platform fee is 2% per successful payment, capped at €25 per transaction, plus connected-provider fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sell art I created with Midjourney?

Midjourney's current guidance permits commercial use of images you create, subject to its terms and exceptions. You still need rights to inputs and must avoid selling another user's upscale or protected third-party material.

Do I need a specific Midjourney plan for commercial use?

Midjourney currently says a business grossing more than US$1 million annually needs a Pro or Mega plan for company commercial use. Check the current plan and terms for your situation.

What Midjourney art products can I sell?

Focused wallpaper packs, backgrounds, printable art, themed image bundles and commissioned visual sets are clearer offers than miscellaneous generation dumps.

Should I sell Midjourney art or prompts?

Sell finished art when the buyer wants ready-to-use images. Sell a prompt when the buyer wants a repeatable recipe they can adapt and generate with themselves.
