Accept international payments in Georgia without Stripe

Stripe does not currently list Georgia as a supported country for a standard payments account. Georgian freelancers and companies can still combine an eligible PayPal Business account, bank transfer, local acquiring or a Merchant of Record with a clear PayRequest invoice or payment link.

Direct answer

What replaces Stripe here?

There is no universal Georgian replacement for Stripe. PayPal is practical when the buyer wants a hosted wallet or card checkout; a bank transfer can suit larger B2B invoices; local acquiring serves domestic buyers; and a Merchant of Record is the better fit when a SaaS seller needs the provider to become seller of record.

PayPal through PayRequest

PayPal's Georgian business pages describe online checkout, card acceptance and invoicing. Confirm the exact products and withdrawal destination shown in your own verified account before offering them to a client.

Bank or transfer provider

Use a Georgian bank or regulated transfer provider when the customer already pays suppliers by wire. Compare intermediary, FX and receiving fees, not only the advertised transfer fee.

Local checkout or wallet

For domestic GEL checkout, compare a Georgian bank or local gateway directly. PayRequest does not turn a local acquiring contract into Stripe and does not issue foreign bank details.

A $1,000 client-payment workflow

Agree a $500 deposit and $500 final balance in writing.

Create a named USD invoice and connect the eligible receiving provider.

Send the hosted link and let the client verify the amount and business details.

Check the live provider status, currency and reference—not a screenshot.

Deliver the final work and retain the invoice, provider record and delivery evidence together.

Frequently asked questions

Can I accept international payments with PayPal Business in Georgia?

PayPal publishes business tools or withdrawal information for Georgia, but exact products, cards, holds, fees and withdrawals depend on the verified account. Check your own account before offering the method.

Does PayRequest provide a US bank account?

No. PayRequest creates invoices, hosted payment pages and payment links. Funds settle with the connected provider or wallet; PayRequest does not issue bank accounts or hold client money.

Is PayRequest a Merchant of Record?

No. PayRequest is a billing platform. It does not become the legal seller or automatically handle every tax obligation for a sale.
