Billing for VPN providers

Collect VPN payments with PayPal. Start with one payment link.

For small VPN resellers who already have customers: agree the service and price, create a GBP payment link, accept PayPal and check payment status before you deliver or renew access. Keep customer billing together as your business grows.

Annual VPN renewal

This example is a manual renewal. Paying once does not authorize an automatic payment next year. PayRequest handles billing; you deliver the VPN service.

For small resellers with existing customers

Customer → GBP payment link → PayPal → payment status.

You can collect an individual service payment without building a webshop or an automated subscription catalogue. PayPal currently supports payment links. For a formal invoice or recurring agreement, check the supported provider separately; these flows currently use Mollie.

Step 1

Agree the service

Record the customer’s email, service period, price and renewal terms. Keep passwords and VPN credentials out of the payment description.

Step 2

Create the payment link

Connect an eligible PayPal merchant account. Set the amount to £65, choose GBP and describe the agreed service period. Confirm PayPal appears at checkout before sharing.

Step 3

Verify the payment

Match the successful payment to the customer, amount, currency and reference. An opened link or a screenshot is not confirmation. Investigate pending or failed payments.

Step 4

Deliver and record

Activate or extend access in your own VPN system after confirmation. Keep the receipt, payment reference and new expiry date together in your customer administration.

A renewal message you can adapt

“Your annual VPN renewal is £65 for 1 November 2026–31 October 2027. Please pay using this link: [your payment link]. This is a one-time payment; automatic renewal is off. I will confirm your new expiry date once payment is received.”

Fictitious example. Replace the dates, amount and terms with your agreement.

Billing and service delivery are separate

PayRequest does not provision VPN servers or automatically extend a reseller account through this payment-link workflow. If you need automatic activation or suspension, connect a separately verified integration to your service platform.

For Telegram, digital goods and services sold through bots or mini-apps inside Telegram must use Telegram Stars. An external PayPal checkout is not a workaround. Read our Telegram and PayPal payment guide before choosing the route.

When you need recurring access billing

Your VPN customers should not need support for every billing question.

For a separately configured recurring agreement, a customer portal makes the relationship easier to operate. Confirm provider support and customer authorization before enabling automatic payments.

Recurring VPN subscriptions

Offer monthly or annual plans and keep renewal status visible to your team and customers.

Self-service customer portal

Let subscribers view invoices, manage their plan and update payment details without opening a support ticket.

Payment choice that fits

Connect eligible providers and give customers a clear hosted checkout for a plan, upgrade or renewal.

Clear account history

Keep invoices, receipts, subscription events and customer communication connected to one record.

From checkout to renewal

A practical subscription flow for VPN businesses.

Start with a clear plan and give the customer one place to understand what they bought, when it renews and what happens next.

1

Create your VPN plans

Define the price, currency, billing interval, trial or introductory offer and what access each plan includes.

2

Send customers to checkout

Use a hosted payment page or link from your website, app, email or support conversation.

3

Give customers control

Direct subscribers to their portal for invoices, payment-method changes, cancellations and plan questions.

Make the next action obvious

Use the portal as the destination for billing questions. Link to it from receipts, renewal reminders and your support replies so customers can solve common requests without starting over.

Useful customer actions

  • View or download an invoice
  • Change a payment method
  • Check plan and renewal status
  • Request cancellation or an account change
