Clients tap the Tikkie link, pay via their own banking app in seconds, and you receive the money instantly. It is one of the most frictionless ways to get paid in the Dutch market.

How Tikkie works with PayRequest

Add your phone number

Go to Settings β†’ Payment Providers β†’ Digital Wallets. Find Tikkie and enter your Dutch phone number. That is the number linked to your Tikkie account.

Enable on your page

Toggle Tikkie on. It instantly appears as a payment option on your payment page alongside your other methods.

Client pays in their bank app

Your client taps the Tikkie button, gets redirected to the Tikkie link, opens their banking app, and confirms the payment. Takes about 10 seconds.

Client confirms and you check

After paying, the client clicks 'I have paid' on your payment page. You verify the incoming payment in Tikkie or your bank app before delivering.

Set up Tikkie in 3 steps

Log in to PayRequest
Go to payrequest.app and log into your account. Navigate to Settings in the left sidebar.

Open Digital Wallets
Go to Payment Providers β†’ Digital Wallets. Scroll to find Tikkie in the European Regional section.

Enter your Dutch phone number and toggle on
Enter the phone number linked to your Tikkie account (format: 06XXXXXXXX or +316XXXXXXXX). Click Save, then toggle Tikkie on. It now appears on your payment page.

Frequently asked questions

Does PayRequest verify the Tikkie payment automatically?
No. Tikkie payments happen in the client's bank app, outside PayRequest. Always check your Tikkie app or bank account before delivering your work. The 'I have paid' button records the client's confirmation, not the actual transfer.
Does my client need a Tikkie account?
No. Your client just needs a Dutch bank account with iDEAL enabled β€” which covers virtually all Dutch banks including ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO, SNS, and others. They do not need to download or register for Tikkie separately.
What is the maximum amount for Tikkie?
Standard Tikkie links are limited to €500 per transaction. For larger amounts, consider bank transfer (SEPA) or combining Tikkie with another method on your payment page.
Can I use Tikkie alongside other payment methods?
Yes. Tikkie appears as one option among all your active payment methods β€” iDEAL, cards, SEPA, and others all show on the same page. Clients pick what they prefer.
Do I need a Tikkie Business account?
No. You only need a regular personal Tikkie account (which every Dutch smartphone user effectively has through their bank app). PayRequest shows a link to your Tikkie handle β€” no business plan required.
