FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a crypto tip jar link?

A crypto tip jar link is a single shareable URL where fans, viewers or readers can send you a tip in Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin or other coins — straight to your own wallet. Each coin gets a QR code and copy button, so supporters pick whatever they hold and send directly, with no signup on their end.

Which coins can I add to my crypto tip jar?

PayRequest supports Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), USDT, USDC, BNB, XRP, ADA, TRX, MATIC/POL and AVAX. Add as many as you like — your tip jar page lists every coin you've activated, each with its own QR code.

Where do I put my tip jar link?

Anywhere your audience already is: your Twitch/YouTube panel, link-in-bio (Linktree, Beacons), GitHub README, newsletter footer, podcast show notes, or your website. It's one link that works on its own — no embed or plugin required.

Do I need a PayPal or Stripe account?

No. A crypto tip jar link works independently of card or PayPal payments — it just displays a wallet address you already control. If you also want to accept card, PayPal, or bank tips, you can add a payment link for those alongside your crypto tip jar.

Can I see who tipped me?

Crypto tips are sent directly to your wallet on-chain, so you'll see the transaction in your wallet or block explorer. For Bitcoin, Litecoin, Solana and Dogecoin, PayRequest can also auto-confirm a tip when the supporter clicks "I've sent it", linking to the on-chain transaction.

Is there a minimum tip amount?

No minimum is set by PayRequest. The practical minimum is whatever makes sense after network fees — for Litecoin, Solana or Dogecoin that can be a few cents; for Bitcoin on-chain, larger tips avoid fees eating a big share of small amounts.

Does PayRequest take a cut of crypto tips?

No. Because tips go directly from the supporter's wallet to yours, PayRequest never touches the funds and charges no fee on these payments. You keep 100% of every crypto tip, minus the sender's own network fee.

Can I combine a crypto tip jar with card or PayPal tips?

Yes. Many creators run a PayRequest payment page with multiple options — card, PayPal, bank transfer, and crypto wallets — so supporters pick whatever they're comfortable with. The crypto wallets simply appear as additional tip options alongside the rest.
