How crypto subscriptions work

01

Connect your wallet

Go to Provider Settings and connect your wallet via WalletConnect. MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, Phantom — any wallet on Solana or Base works.

02

Set up a subscription plan

Create a subscription with a USDC price, billing interval (monthly, quarterly, yearly), and trial period. Works exactly like fiat subscriptions — just pick USDC as the currency.

03

Customer approves the mandate

Your customer connects their wallet and signs a USDC approval for the plan amount. This one-time approval authorizes recurring charges. Takes under 30 seconds.

04

Auto-collect USDC every cycle

On each billing date, PayRequest initiates a USDC transfer from the customer's wallet to yours (minus the 2% platform fee). No manual invoices, no chasing payments.

PayRequest supports USDC subscriptions on both Solana and Base — the two fastest, cheapest blockchains for payments in 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How does recurring USDC billing work?
The customer connects their wallet and signs a one-time USDC approval for the subscription amount. On each billing date, PayRequest initiates a transfer from their wallet to yours. No recurring approvals needed — the initial ERC-20/SLP approval covers future charges until the subscription ends or the customer revokes it.
What happens if the wallet has insufficient USDC?
PayRequest retries the charge after 3, 7, and 14 days. If all retries fail, the subscription is marked Past Due and eventually Suspended. The customer gets email notifications at each step with a link to top up their wallet and pay the outstanding amount.
Can customers pay with any wallet?
Any wallet on Solana or Base works — MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Phantom, Rabby, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, and more. The checkout page detects the wallet type and shows the appropriate connection flow (WalletConnect QR code or direct browser extension).
What are the fees for crypto subscriptions?
PayRequest charges 2% per successful USDC payment. Network gas fees (under $0.01 on Base/Solana) are paid by the customer. There is no monthly platform fee, no setup fee, and no minimum volume.
Can I offer both USDC and fiat subscriptions?
Yes. You can create separate subscription plans in USDC or EUR. Customers see the available options and choose their preferred payment method. All subscriptions appear in the same dashboard with combined MRR and churn analytics.
Is there a minimum subscription amount?
No minimum. However, for amounts under $5 USDC, the 2% platform fee plus gas costs may make sense to batch or use fiat instead. We recommend USDC subscriptions starting at $10/month for optimal efficiency.
