Limitations of Plain wa.me Links

How do I send a payment link via WhatsApp?
Paste your payment URL (Stripe, PayPal.me, PayRequest, etc.) into the generator above, optionally add the recipient's phone number and a short message, then click Copy Link. The result is a wa.me link that opens WhatsApp with everything pre-filled — just press Send.
Do I need WhatsApp Business to accept payments via WhatsApp?
No. wa.me click-to-chat links work with both regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. Business adds features like automated greetings, catalogues, and quick replies — useful if you're sending many payment links per day, but not required to get paid.
Can WhatsApp itself process the payment?
In a few markets (India, Brazil, Singapore) WhatsApp has native payments via UPI/Pix. In most other countries, customers tap the payment URL in your message and complete payment in the provider's checkout (Stripe, PayPal, PayRequest, etc.) — that's what this generator builds.
Is there a character limit on the WhatsApp message?
wa.me text parameters work up to roughly 4,000 characters of URL-encoded text. Keep messages short for clarity — long URLs eat into the budget. PayRequest payment URLs are ~40 characters, leaving plenty of room for context.
Why does the link sometimes not open WhatsApp directly?
If WhatsApp isn't installed, wa.me links fall back to a web page asking to download. On iOS, ensure WhatsApp is set as the default messaging app for the contact. Including the country code (e.g. +1 for US, +44 for UK) makes the link more reliable.
